Andreu World Debuts Expanded NYC Showroom

Andreu World has opened the doors of its newly renovated and expanded showroom in New York City, with more than 10,000 square feet of space to display the brand’s furniture, including the pieces made in collaboration with notable designers like Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola. “We took the opportunity to invest in this expansion and offer even more that we weren’t able to before,” said Jesus Llinares, CEO of Andreu World.

The showroom, designed by Andreu’s internal team, is now the brand’s second largest in the world after their headquarters in Valencia, Spain—and the largest showroom space in the United States. It is another step that further solidifies the manufacturer’s reputation as a leader within the industry.

Located in the New York Design Center at 200 Lexington Avenue, the space is in the heart of the design district. Visitors can experience the energy of the city while looking at the latest product offerings.

The showroom not only serves as a place for business, it is also an inspiration hub for creatives in a range of professions. “New York is the center of everything, from the arts, fashion to architecture, and especially design, with cultures from all over the world coming together to make it what it is today,” noted Llinares. “Selecting the New York showroom, as our largest in America, was an easy decision for our team, as the city’s influence can be seen on a global scale.”

Desks, tables, and indoor and outdoor collections are on view, and in keeping with the theme in all of the Andreu World showrooms, wood dividers made of 100% FSC-certified wood separate the different areas. Vignettes features large-scale images of projects where the furniture is installed, with pieces carefully selected to highlight the styles in various environments.

The layout enhances an individual’s time in the space, and as Llinares explained, clients can test products and determine how the finishes, fabrics, and colors will complement the other elements in a particular project. “This new space allows visitors to interact and gain a better understanding of how each product can provide design solutions,” he said. “The showroom expansion gave us the creative freedom to display our collections while also offering an immersive experience.”

In 2022, the manufacturer was the first in the world to have its entire product range Cradle to Cradle-certified, just one example of the company’s dedication to positive action and environmental stewardship. The showroom includes a large panel that details the company’s Circular Design Challenge, launched with the goal of achieving full circularity by 2025.

Every element is considered, with an emphasis on wellness, social equality, and conservation. This holistic approach, and working in tandem with partners that support Andreu Word’s vision, has led to continued success. “We aim to inspire creative thinking and collaborative efforts to design products that can be reused, refurbished, and recycled,” Llinares said. “In the new year, Andreu World is committed to advancing sustainability initiatives.”

Even with a focus on expansion at all levels, the company’s leadership is careful not to overextend, and to maintain the standards during every phase of production—increasingly rare in the era of fast furniture. Indeed, it is estimated that in the U.S. alone, more than 12 million tons of furniture is discarded each year.

It is smart planning that creates an ideal balance of quality and quantity. “We are strategically expanding our presence in global markets while ensuring that our growth is aligned with sustainable practices,” Llinares noted. “This includes working closely with local communities, adhering to ethical manufacturing standards, and promoting social responsibility.”

Integrating eco-friendly materials and minimizing their environmental footprint does not mean that quality or style is lessened, and Llinares said people gain a greater appreciation for the pieces shown, which is often missed when the furniture is displayed online.

At the recent party held in the showroom to mark the opening, Llinares added that while there’s no shortage of work to be done, and more milestones to come, the event offered a moment to reflect on the past year and gather with friends in the design community. “It is a festive time for our team to come together and celebrate this exciting chapter. We hope that our clients will enjoy the expanded space that can better cater to their needs.”
