The first person through the door on Saturday, September 23, will have the opportunity to purchase an original La Chaise by Charles & Ray Eames for only $999 (normally $11,295). Inspired by the “Floating Figure” sculpture by Gaston Lachaise, the Eameses originally designed the elegant lounge chair for a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1948. It has long since established itself as an icon of organic design and is available exclusively from Vitra.
