Rethinking Space: Stylex Gets Colorful with New Summer Palette & Products

Playing with hues, materials, and textures, Stylex launches fresh colorways that complement their latest summer releases

Commercial furnishings leader Stylex is putting playful personality back in design, with new products and a fresh color palette that places an emphasis on individuality. The new collection of Quick and Still screens, Dela seating and Trim tables fuse inviting aesthetics with intense customization options, while a new range of hues offers colors for all occasions— from work to relaxation. With a juxtaposition of color, texture, and material at their core, Stylex’s latest introductions and updated palette energizes the summer season with inspiring design.

“Design is not ‘one size fits all,’” explains Randi Pastrovic, Stylex’s Vice President of Marketing. “We all live and work in our own individual ways, especially in 2020, and these new lines capture that ethos. Whether carving out a private office space, creating a unique Trim table setup, or picking out a new Dela chair in a color that simply makes you happy or helps calms you down, we’re excited to see how designers make Stylex products their very own.”

From blush pinks to lemon yellows, Stylex’s new color line was inspired by individuality and dynamic expression. Color imparts new personality on products – bold hues tell a proud story, while soft shades harmonize. The updated 2020 palette increases this range of expression and provides a modern approach to color. Referencing the mood-boosting effects of the summer season, Stylex now offers five new polypropylene colors: Dusty Pink, Soft Blue, Pale Yellow, Meadow Green, and Sand. The powder coat selection has also been expertly curated with 11 new options that complement existing hues, offering ultimate customization. The bottom line is a total of 26 powder coat finishes. Every new color has now been made available across the entire Stylex line and artfully integrated into the new product offering.

Stylex’s new 2020 summer products include:

Dela:

Available in more than 2,000 standard configurations, the Dela family of chairs and stools are the ultimate chameleons. Its seven models—a task chair; two heights of stools; and lounge and guest chairs with and without arms—can be dressed up or down depending upon one’s needs and budget. Each share a plywood shell and tubular steel frame, with a design that nods to minimalism, the Bauhaus, and Stylex’s storied history of metalwork. Dela effortlessly mingles in nearly any environment, from hospitality and healthcare to education and office.

Chair shells come in three basic styles: fully upholstered, finished plywood back with upholstered seat, and finished plywood back and seat pan; wood choices include walnut and white oak. Four upholstery styles are on offer, among them welt cord, button tuft, Liberty tuft, and dual fabric. The chairs may be specified with arm caps and upholstered in leather, fabric, or COM. The frame is available in satin chrome or one of 26 powder-coat colors. Exhibiting craftsmanship at every turn, from the welds in its frames to the stitching in its upholstery, the Dela Collection embodies quality with a contemporary look at a highly competitive price. It is Greenguard-certified and exceeds all BIFMA standards.

Trim:

A contemporary take on the classic nesting table, Trim reflects the fluid way we work today, with movable furnishings and multipurpose areas replacing fixed design schemes. Designed by Chris Adamick, Trim is available in six widths and seven heights, and comes in a choice of closed or open base. The former, comprising an unbroken, tubular-steel loop, mirrors the size and rounded edges of the table’s surface.

The latter is the same, except one corner of the base has been lopped off. This small permutation unlocks a myriad of opportunities, allowing individual tables to be layered over each other, with pieces removed and rearranged as need arises. It also lets users position the tables very close to themselves, especially if seated in an armchair or a sofa.

Trim’s surface options range from hardwoods and powder-coated steel to Caesarstone and back-painted glass. Intended to be mixed and matched, these choices reflect the heterogeneous nature of today’s interiors, where multiple materials—metals, laminates, woods, and plastics—often coexist in the same space. Offered in one base finish, satin chrome, and 26 powder-coat colors, Trim suits contemporary and traditional settings, including office, hospitality, healthcare, and educational spaces. Trim is Greenguard- and LEVEL-certified.

Quick Screens:

Pumping up texture, color, and safety, Quick upholstered screens are reconfigurable at a moment’s notice without the use of special tools. These lightweight spatial dividers, which can be quick-shipped in as few as 10 days with select textiles, support any foreseeable situation – be it retrofitting an office for density, creating an ad-hoc lounge, or temporarily enforcing greater social distance.

Screens can stand alone or be grouped together, with optional casters making them even easier to move or nest when not in use. A top connecting screw allows ganged panels to very simply create any size corner angle, increasing the range of applications, geometries, and design possibilities. Not only can you create sectioned-off spaces, but Quick allows you to easily reconfigure and add texture to any space.

Still Screens:

Endlessly flexible, Still screens designed by Fig40 address the evolving needs of office, hospitality, education, and healthcare environments while elevating workplace aesthetics through texture and color. Offering the functionality of a traditional panel system with an extra touch of tailored elegance, Still creates privacy and separation in open-plan environments.

The collection plays with light, proportion, rhythm, and texture. To increase transparency and allow airflow, screens may be specified with slatted oak or walnut windows. Upholstery options provide further customization, with choices ranging from refined woven textiles to bleach-cleanable fabrics. The panel’s metal feet may be powder-coated in an array of 26 colors to coordinate with the upholstery. Still is BIFMA- and LEVEL-certified.
