Interior Design Best of Year Awards Now Accepting Entries

Interior Design, a SANDOW publication and the industry authority and top resource and reference tool for professional interior designers, is pleased to announce that entries are currently being accepted for the 2017 Best of Year awards (#IDboyawards).

Best of Year celebrates the projects and products that define the best of 2017. Now celebrating its 12th year, the awards program has become the ultimate measure of excellence, showcasing what’s happening today in every category of design while simultaneously setting the bar even higher for the future. The categories comprise a carefully curated list built from core sectors, industry favorites and current trends. A full list of categories can be found here.

The awards ceremony, held at New York’s IAC Building in December, draws 1,000+ worldwide attendees. Winners and honorees are announced live by Interior Design Editor in Chief, Cindy Allen, and Publisher, Carol Cisco, and will take home the coveted Best of Year bulb award, designed by icon Harry Allen. Product entries are featured in a public online gallery and are voted on by the architecture and design community from October 5 – 16, 2017. Project entries are judged by an Interior Design editorial panel, including Allen.

“The winners and honorees continue to raise the bar in the work they produce each year, and being able to acknowledge their contributions to the world of design and show them off in such a meaningful way is a real privilege,” said Allen.

The ceremony takes place the evening after the Interior Design Hall of Fame gala, which will be at the River Pavilion, inside I.M. Pei’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on Manhattan’s West Side. The event had been held in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria for over 30 years; due to the hotel’s three-year renovation, Interior Design sought out a fresh location.

The Awards have experienced a great deal of growth throughout the years, and now boast 63 Product categories (including 6 new additions), and 50 Project categories. The newest categories in the ever-growing spectrum are as follows: Packaging, Marketing & Branding, Tabletop, Automotive: Interiors, Automotive: Overall Design, and Automotive: Concept Car.
