Indiana Furniture and Arts For Learning Indiana Team Up for a Reading Program and the Travelling Chair
Indiana Furniture was approached by the Arts for Learning Indiana program to be a part of their new reading program. They asked Indiana Furniture to create a travelling chair with the winning artist, Emily Kennerk. This chair will move to different locations throughout Indiana and at each location a figure of the community will read a story to a group of children. Emily has added her special touches of hand painted designs to the chair to heighten the imagination during the reading experience. The “windows” will allow for an array of characters to visit and pop in while their story is being read. The oversized chair symbolizes the possibilities of how reading can expand the mind and the world as you know it. The Reader’s Chair was unveiled at the Chalk Walk, Saturday June 11th on the Square in Jasper.
