The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), in collaboration with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, is proud to announce the winners of the third annual Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards. The Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards recognize the highest level of design excellence in Interior Design/Architecture projects throughout the Asia Pacific region.
“We are honored to showcase the tremendous design talent represented in this region,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “The winners of this year’s Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards exemplified a return to design simplicity in form, function, materials, and natural light and emphasized the role of local inspiration in sophisticated, globally-relevant design.”
Judges on the panel for the Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards included Annie Chu, IIDA, AIA (Founder and Principal, Chu + Gooding Architects), Primo Orpilla, IIDA (Co-Founder and Principal, Studio O+A), and Joey N. Shimoda, FIIDA, FAIA (Chief Creative Officer, Shimoda Design Group).
“This year’s submissions were very impressive with well-executed projects in all categories. The level of work was outstanding, making our job as judges very difficult,” said Orpilla. The judges also noted, “The strongest projects in this year’s competition transcended pragmatic problem-solving and elevated the standard of design excellence in the region.”
