Interface, the global brand of commercial carpet tile, has been voted the No. 1 choice of contract interior designers in a recent survey conducted by Floor Focus, the leading publication of the floor covering industry. Interface took the top spot across multiple categories – service, quality, design, performance and green leadership – in the magazine’s annual polling of 250 design firms. The full results of The Top 250 Design Survey 2015 appear in the October issue.
Interface scored a major coup, breaking though to the top spot in service and, for the first time in eight years, prevailing in the design category. It also earned the top ranking in the Green Leaders category, which it has topped five years running. The highest rating for green performance is an especially gratifying win for Interface, which has distinguished itself as a trailblazer in sustainability over the past two decades.
“What makes the Floor Focus survey results so valuable is that they directly reflect the voice of the design professionals who specify the flooring for their commercial projects,” said John Wells, President & CEO, Interface Americas. “We are enormously appreciative that the architecture and design community has given Interface a very strong vote of confidence. What’s more, we are honored that they decidedly gave recognition to our diligence in transparency, as well as to one of our key sustainability initiatives, Net-Works®.”
Net-Works is a global partnership whose members ethically source discarded and dangerous fishing nets from impoverished communities, which are regenerated into nylon yarn for use in Interface carpet tile. Currently operating across 14 collection sites in the Philippines, the program has provided economic support and opportunities to the region and resulted in sustained environmental conservation. Net-Works will be expanding operations into Cameroon, Africa this year with a focus on finding ways to rapidly scale and replicate its success around the globe.
