Arden Studio’s Mobl™️ and Haven™️ Win 2021 GOOD DESIGN® Award
Design-Focused Glass Manufacturer Celebrates Third Accolade for its Demonstration of Design Excellence
Arden Studio has been honored with two GOOD DESIGN® Awards for its accomplishments in product design in the Furniture category with Mobl™ and Haven™. The two design-forward glass solutions showcase the brand’s innovation, meticulous attention to quality, and commitment to artful and sustainable design. As one of the oldest and most prestigious awards programs, GOOD DESIGN® celebrates the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced worldwide. Presented by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, recognition affirms that the product has met the highest standards and most strident and professional criteria of international design excellence. This honor marks Arden Studio’s third accolade since its official debut in 2021, underscoring the brand’s innovation and impact in the glass products market.
Founded in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, the GOOD DESIGN® Award continues to commend industry leaders in design and manufacturing who break boundaries in the international marketplace and celebrate achievements in contemporary design. This year, the Museum received a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms from over 55 countries. Mobl™ and Haven™ join a robust group of winners over the last 70 years, including the paperclip, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and the NASA SpaceShip.
With Mobl™ and Haven™, Arden Studio evolves what’s possible with the medium of glass, offering products that create elegant and safer spaces in shared settings and workplaces. Mobl™ is a multifunctional product that doubles as a writing surface and partition while also helping to dampen noise in busy work environments with its PET Felt Acoustic Panels. Offering infinite options for reconfiguring workspaces, the portable solution helps promote focus and provides visual privacy, flexibility, and collaboration. The 4 mm Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass boards have stunning clarity, a strong magnetic surface and provide an optimal writing experience, reducing shadows for improved visibility and readability. Made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, the PET acoustic felt with a noise reduction coefficient of .85 is a smart choice for busy offices and shared spaces. Mobl™ includes integrated storage for markers and erasers in an aluminum or wood finish, which creates a compelling visual contrast to the glass surface.
As a design-focused alternative to plastic screens, the Haven™ space partitions are a compelling and welcoming visual element in any corporate, healthcare, hospitality, or education-related setting. Placed on either a sturdy, stationary, or mobile base, the durable yet easily movable room dividers direct traffic and define spaces. Ranging from nature-inspired biophilic patterns to geometric ones, Arden Studio’s artfully shaped Haven™ glass partitions enable interior designers to create separation and visually comfortable spaces. Not only do the organic patterns add vertical artistic interest to any environment, but they also contribute to the cognitive and emotional well-being of staff, clients, students, and patients by promoting a more calming and productive atmosphere. Haven™ is available in three shapes with a choice of either clear or frosted glass and an option to custom print.
The 71st GOOD DESIGN jury selected Mobl™ and Haven™ in November/December 2021. The GOOD DESIGN® seal demonstrates that the selected products meet the most rigorous test for absolute design excellence internationally. In addition to their recognition, the two glass partitions will be published in the GOOD DESIGN Yearbook for 2021.

Founded in Chicago in 1950 by the former MoMA curator Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., together with pioneers in modern design such as Charles and Ray Eames, Russel Wright, George Nelson, and Eero Saarinen, the GOOD DESIGN® exhibition program began as a sponsorship between The Merchandise Mart in Chicago and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
