AIS Welcomes Michael MacLean as New Director of Design
AIS, a leading manufacturer of commercial office furniture and seating, announces the hiring of Michael MacLean as director of design. MacLean, who joined AIS in December, will lead all design efforts for AIS and will report to Nick Haritos, AIS’s executive vice president of sales and distribution.
“I’m thrilled to join AIS, a company known for their award-winning product design. With my background in industrial design, I have always been passionate about AIS products & have loved specifying AIS. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences in the dealer world and am confident AIS’s talented design team will continue to play an integral role in partnering with dealers and clients,” said MacLean.
With nearly 25 years of experience working with multiple manufacturers at the dealer level, MacLean brings to AIS a broad‐based skill set in the design arena. In his previous positions, he led all activities executed by the design department, from sales through installation including integrating and maintaining technology into the design process.
“At AIS we believe our design capabilities to be a key differentiator and an integral part of the sales process. Mike’s leadership and experience will propel us to a new level of service to our key dealer partners,” said Nick Haritos. “The team is excited to have him on board as we kick off the new year continuing our industry leading momentum,” said Haritos.
MacLean is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial design. He is also a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (ISDA).
