3rd Annual IIDA Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards Competition Now Open
7.14.15 | Chicago, IL | The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) proudly announces the opening of the 2015 IIDA Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards competition. This international design competition honors innovation and design excellence in Interior Design/Architecture throughout the Asia Pacific region through recognition of projects in 14 design categories.
“The IIDA Best of Asia Pacific Design Awards have quickly become one of the most exciting and innovative design competitions our Association sponsors,” IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP, said. “There is an amazing amount of cutting-edge design, visionary architecture, and awe-inspiring creativity evolving in that area of the globe. We look forward to once again experiencing the forward thinking design innovation that is taking place in the Asia Pacific region.”
Entries are now being accepted in the following categories:
• Corporate Space Large (1,000 square meters and above)
• Corporate Space Small (under 1,000 square meters)
• Educational (elementary/secondary educational facilities, colleges/universities)
• Entertainment (casinos, performing arts centers, sports arenas, theaters)
• Healthcare (hospitals, outpatient clinics, medical facilities)
• Hospitality (lounges, bars)
• Hotels
• Institutional (cultural, government/municipal spaces, libraries, religious spaces)
• Residences (multifamily)
• Residences (single family)
• Restaurants
• Retail (stores, boutiques)
• Showrooms/Exhibition Spaces/Sales Centers
• Spas/Fitness
The 2015 jury panel will include: Annie Chu, IIDA, AIA, of CHU+GOODING Architects; Primo Orpilla, IIDA, of STUDIO O+A; and Joey N. Shimoda, FIIDA, FAIA, of Shimoda Design Group.
Projects must be located in the Asia Pacific, however the design firm may be based outside of the region. Submitted project(s) must have been completed after Jan. 13, 2013. Deadline for submitting entries is Friday, Aug. 28, 2015.
Projects in the following countries are eligible for submission: American Samoa, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, East Timor, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Northern Mariana Islands, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam, and Wallis and Futuna.
The winning design projects will be chosen by a jury of design professionals on Oct. 3, 2015. All winning projects will be published on the IIDA website and recognized at a special awards reception in December 2015.
