The Center for Active Design Presents Its 2017 Excellence Awards
The Center for Active Design (CfAD) has been an early champion of implementing design standards that speak to human health – something many other organizations have only recently begun to shift toward. Its Excellence Awards, which showcase active design as a positive movement influencing spaces around the world, are just one of the many exciting things happening at the CfAD. “Over the five years since CfAD was launched, we’ve seen a shift in the demand for healthy communities that is now being led by the residents and employees within our communities,” said Joanna Frank, President & CEO, Center for Active Design, in the CfAD Awards announcement. “As is evidenced by this year’s winners, cities, real estate developers, businesses, and designers are meeting this demand by prioritizing health within their respective industries.” In addition to releasing helpful design guidelines and research findings, the CfAD is also the operator of Fitwel, a …
