ICFF 2016 Opening Night Events at MoMA Include First-Ever NYCxDESIGN Best of Awards

ICFF

Followed by the infamous ICFF Opening Night Party – Featuring the Band “Rough”

Only one North American show can bring together an international array of leading design professionals in the heart of New York City: the 2016 ICFF® Opening Night events on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). The evening kicks off at 6PM with the presentation of the inaugural Best of NYCxDESIGN Awards, followed by the “not-to-be-missed” party in the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. Both events require tickets, which may be purchased by registered attendees of ICFF at ICFF.com. A limited number of tickets are available for both events!

First Annual NYCxDESIGN Awards Event

Presented by Interior Design magazine and ICFF, the first annual global design competition celebrates outstanding achievement across major areas of design—from architecture to interiors, from products to collectibles, from craft to technology—from the over 500 events that comprise New York City’s showcase of global design. This annual celebration serves as the platform to highlight New York City’s diverse design community and its contributions to the fabric and economy of the five boroughs, together with examples of some of the latest in global design.

Opening Night Party at MoMA

The award ceremony is followed by the social event of the season: the ICFF Opening Night Party. Presented by ICFF and Luxe Interiors + DESIGN, and sponsored by IOA. The headliner for the event is the band Rough. Comprising award-winning designers and professional musicians: bassist Tom Dixon, singers Bradford Shellhammer, Billie Ray Martin and Steph Hannah, guitarists Del Marquis (formerly of the Scissor Sisters) and Eran Kendler and drummer Paul Pethick, Rough is a loose collective of musicians that riff and rotate around the coarse and rugged drum and bass duo of Dixon and Shellhammer.

“For 28 years, ICFF has celebrated the convergence of global Design,” said Kevin O’Keefe, ICFF Event Director. “The Opening Night events only further our commitment to connecting the New York with the global design community.”

Tickets for the Best of NYCxDESIGN Awards presentation and the opening night party must be purchased in advance, through the ICFF registration portal at ICFF.com. The cost for a ticket to the NYCxDESIGN Awards (only) is $80; a ticket to the Opening Party (only) is $95; and a combination ticket to both the Awards and Opening Party is $150. Tickets purchased to attend the NYCxDESIGN Awards also include wine pouring and transport from ICFF to MoMA.
