With the introduction of Naturals 02, Wolf-Gordon has added the BildenWood™ category to its wood veneer wallcoverings. Constructed from a range of nine authentic wood species such as walnut and sapele, BildenWood yields a uniform wood grain appearance with a predictable and consistent arrangement.

All items in Naturals 02—Wood Veneers, WonderWood and BildenWood—are prefinished with a matte lacquer finish that inhibits fading from sunlight and eliminates the additional time, labor, and cost involved in sanding and finishing. Additionally, all items feature an innovative new proprietary backing made specifically for drywall applications. This backing ensures a seamless look and eliminates the need for edge trimming on site.

“Our new prefinished wood wallcoverings put the focus on natural materials in commercial interiors, and dramatically improve installation results. We put extensive effort into developing a special backing for drywall applications that virtually eliminates a visible seam.” – Marybeth Shaw, Wolf-Gordon Vice-President, Design & Marketing

Wolf-Gordon’s Wood Veneers, WonderWood and BildenWood offer a sophisticated alternative to costly wood wall panels, achieving the same timeless aesthetic in a lightweight, easy-to-install material that is flexible enough to wrap around curves and columns. In keeping with Wolf-Gordon’s commitment to sustainability, wood veneer products are made with trees sourced from managed forests and are manufactured using less wood and energy than traditional wood panels.

BildenWood™ and WonderWood® come in two foot wide by eight or ten foot high panels; two foot wide Wood Veneers are available in several lengths, from eight to twelve feet high, depending upon species.

Collection Highlights:

Classic Tulipwood comes from the tulip tree, found largely in eastern parts of North America. Its yellow-green coloring makes a substantial shift as it ages, fading into tan. The relatively straight grain complements BildenWood’s plank effect.

American White Oak is usually light brown with a slight yellow tint, despite its name. Valued for its density and strength, white oak was popularized during the Arts and Craft Movement by furniture maker, Gustav Stickley. This ubiquitous species is well crafted in BildenWood.

Superior Sapele is dark reddish-brown in color and often used as a substitute for mahogany, making it a popular choice for decorative uses and for violins. Because of its low contrast coloring, it has a more subtle striped effect as a BildenWood construction.

Fumed Larch comes from larch wood, which has a golden yellow-brown color when untreated. When fumed with ammonia vapors, the brown tones are accentuated to almost resemble walnut. Larch is essentially waterproof, making it popular for carpentry projects where moisture is an issue.
