Studio TK’s Cesto Receives Bronze 2019 IDEA Awards
Cesto Seating & Table Collection wins Bronze International Design Excellence Award in Office & Accessories category
Studio TK on Sep. 23 announced that its Cesto Seating & Table Elements Collection was honored in the 2019 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) competition sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). Designed by Khodi Feiz for Studio TK, Cesto earned Bronze in the Office & Accessories category.
“The International Design Excellence Awards have, since the program’s inception, recognized and celebrated design excellence from around the world, so it is a great honor for Cesto designer Khodi Feiz and Studio TK to accept this award from the IDSA,” said Charlie Bell, President, Studio TK.
Cesto is a collection of interactive seating and table elements designed to address the dynamic, collaborative and social behaviors typical of today’s work environment. For the planned or impromptu, the mobile collection of seating and occasional tables offers a nimble approach to social gatherings. Cesto, Spanish for “basket,” is a collection of interactive seating and table elements designed to address the dynamic collaborative and social behaviors typical of today’s work environment.
The Cesto family contains an upholstered base element and a variety of functional tops in numerous colorways and surfaces allowing extensive personalization. Lightweight, easily mobile poufs allow people to easily move pieces around the space. Stools allow quick touchdown collaboration at traditional 29-inch-high (73.7cm) tables. Poufs and benches − with or without backs − were designed for more social spaces and allow collaborative work at 26-inch-high (66cm) tables.
Cesto has garnered other prominent international awards. During its NeoCon 2018 launch it was Winner in the Metropolis Likes NeoCon Awards sponsored by Metropolis magazine, and a Finalist in the HiP Awards staged by Interior Design magazine. Also in 2018, Cesto was honored with a Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and was an Honoree in the Best of Year competition sponsored by Interior Design. Earlier this year Cesto received a Green Good Design Award from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
