Ted Moudis

Ted Moudis (B.S. ‘80), a career architect and founder and senior principal of Ted Moudis Associates (TMA), is the newest member of New York Institute of Technology’s board of trustees. A fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Moudis is the most recent alumnus to contribute his expertise as a trustee to help strategically guide NYIT, and is the first appointee to the board under the tenure of Henry C. “Hank” Foley, who became the fourth president of NYIT on June 1.

“Ted Moudis remains the epitome of what an NYIT student represents. He is determined, able to overcome obstacles, and eminently successful,” Foley said. “We know that he will offer strategic guidance for NYIT as well as serve as an effective role model for our students.”

Moudis founded TMA in 1990. His business acumen and leadership have propelled the firm to be a widely recognized and respected presence in the industry. TMA is recognized as a Top 50 Design Giants firm by Interior Design magazine. Headquartered in New York with an office in Chicago and a formal alliance with London-based MCM Architecture, TMA designs innovative workplaces built for longevity, productivity, and enjoyment. Among its many noteworthy clients are Blackstone, Interpublic Group, PepsiCo, Kaplan, National Football League, JPMorgan Chase, Citadel, and Foot Locker.

“I’m proud of the education I received at NYIT and am pleased to have an opportunity to join its board of trustees, to be a part of the institution’s continued success in preparing students for their future,” Moudis noted.

Moudis has remained actively involved with his alma mater. Over the years, he has hired several NYIT alumni, sits on the architecture advisory board, and holds seminars for students at his office each semester, where he shares career advice and other professional experiences.

He maintains many professional affiliations, including the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, New York Society of Architects, and International Facilities Managers Association. Additionally, he is involved in numerous charitable endeavors, including serving on the board of directors of the Ace Mentor Program of Greater New York, United Way of New York City, and the Friends of St. Dominic’s Home. He serves as the national vice president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, on the board of governors of the Diabetes Research Institute, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, and the Special Olympics, among many other causes.
