Leland Rolls Out a New Logo and Updated Identity

Why the changes?
Over the last 25 years, since first designing our original Marquette chair, we’ve grown, evolved, and adapted. Today, Leland is much more than a chair company. Our portfolio is bigger and broader. Our perspective dynamic, fresh, and progressive. But our logo said otherwise. An identity update was long overdue.
Being the personal signature of our company – the mark we put on our products and attach to our purpose – our logo needed to speak more broadly. It needed to touch on our vision, aesthetic, and entire collection. We approached the challenge the same way we’d start designing a piece of furniture—by understanding, then iterating, then creating something we’re proud to share.
The updated Leland logo and identity takes a playful turn with our history. We began by releasing the name from the solid box. Then we added solid bars, underscoring our bold vision for our future. As a company that allows people to define their space, having a strong, balanced, architectural mark felt relevant.
But the bars support a deeper story. They take inspiration from one of the iconic cutouts featured on the original Marquette chair. As our visual identity reveals itself, you’ll see nods to these classic shapes and patterns, celebrating our past and leading us into the future.
That’s what our updated logo is about. Honoring where we started. Positioning for where we’re going. Telling a compelling story through design, like we’ve always done.
Our Story
Formed in 1992, Leland International began with a clear vision: Design products that look and feel contemporary, while enduring timelessly. Our first offering, the Marquette chair, perfectly embodies this philosophy. As with every product that has followed, we invite customization, allowing color, cutout, and configuration to be specified based on your overall design vision. A careful eye for detail and unwavering craftsmanship are also reasons our furnishings have endured so well, and earned their share of design awards. No matter the size or significance of the project, we make it easy to make a statement.
