Leading general contractor Jacobsen Construction Company (Jacobsen) is pleased to announce a new appointment to its executive project leadership as part of the company’s efforts to accommodate strong growth in the construction industry’s emerging economic recovery.
Chris Field (LEED AP), a longtime Jacobsen project manager, was named as project executive effective Aug. 9, 2021. Field is a seasoned construction professional, with 19 years in the industry — 11 of those at Jacobsen. In his new role, he will oversee a diverse array of work in both the public and private market segments, using his specialized experience in leading design/build projects. Field will report to Chief Operating Officer Matt Radke.
“Chris is firmly vested in the success of every project he leads. He is a phenomenal client advocate and leader and has proven his leadership abilities again and again,” Radke said.
Field’s key responsibilities as a project executive will include fostering strong relationships with current and prospective clients, working with project managers to deliver exceptional results across many types of work, facilitating market growth with building opportunities that align with Jacobsen’s values and strategic goals, and leveraging his design/build expertise and leadership to achieve maximum collaboration, quality and value on complex Jacobsen projects.
“Chris has an eye for detail, a talent for active communication, and a long track record of impressive project results,” said Jacobsen President and CEO Gary Ellis. “His professionalism and experience instill a deep confidence in clients, subcontractors, and Jacobsen leaders and employees alike. His contributions in his new role will strengthen Jacobsen’s ambition to offer clients the best long-term quality, trust and partnership they can find anywhere.”
Jacobsen is adding this project executive position at an especially unique, exciting and historic time for the company’s 600-plus employee-owners. This year, Jacobsen moved into its modern, newly built Salt Lake City headquarters; in 2022, the company will celebrate 100 years since its founding. Jacobsen is also currently leading transformational projects such as The West Quarter, Liberty Sky and Astra Tower (also known as Kensington Tower) high-rise developments in downtown Salt Lake City; the new Primary Children’s Hospital in Lehi, Utah; the Mayflower MWR Conference Hotel & Military Recreation Facility near Park City, Utah; and the historical renovation and restoration of the Salt Lake Temple.
