-ORGATEC 2016 to cover 130,000 gross square metres
-Microsoft and Samsung attending for the first time

There are still around five months to go before ORGATEC 2016 opens its doors. But already the leading international trade fair for the modern world of work is almost fully booked, and the rented exhibition space has increased by 20 per cent. With the opening of Halls 5.2 and 10.1, the space available for exhibitors and visitors has been expanded considerably for ORGATEC 2016, which will present the latest trends and solutions for tomorrow’s offices from 25 to 29 October 2016 in Cologne

The fact that ORGATEC takes a holistic view of the world of work has led growing numbers of leading companies to choose the trade fair as the venue to present their products and services to a high-calibre audience of industry specialists. The list of companies that will be represented at ORGATEC for the first time this year includes global players such as Microsoft, Polycom and Samsung. ORGATEC has also seen registrations by foreign companies rise significantly. Companies from outside Germany account for approximately 73 per cent of exhibitors, with especially large numbers from Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and Turkey. As in previous years, the fair expects more than 50,000 opinion-shaping trade visitors who have travelled from around the world to discover new launches and trends in furnishing, flooring, acoustics, lighting, and media and conferencing technology. The range of trade visitors to the fair comprises founders of start-up companies, dealers and decision makers from SMEs, planners architects and interior designers as well as executives from the Procurement and Human Resources departments of large corporations.

The event addresses the demands of modern work environments and is the only trade fair and communication platform that explores new visions of work. ORGATEC’s “Contract”, “Mobile”, “Space” and “Office” themed areas provide valuable ideas for the design of inspiring work environments – in the office, at home and on the go. The supporting programme of ORGATEC 2016 takes a closer look at these topics. Distinguished speakers at the conferences and talks, special events and other sector highlights will provide an immense amount and breadth of information, as well as plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas and network within the industry. Among the fair highlights is the Trend Forum, which will be moderated by Hajo Schumacher and will feature a host of insightful talks and lively discussion rounds on office design and work culture with renowned speakers and international participants. The series of events will focus on current trends in workspace design for the future. With assistance from a large number of partners, the ORGATEC Boulevard will bring the motto “Creativity Works” to life in spectacular scenes on different islands.

The Speakers’ Corner will also be part of the ORGATEC event programme this year. Following its exceptionally successful premiere in 2014, exhibiting companies will once again have the opportunity to present their products and services to an international trade audience on the stage in Hall 11.2. Interested companies have until the end of July to apply for one of the highly sought-after presentation slots.
