Following Hurricane Ian: Finding Sanctuary in the Storm

Can we find sanctuary in the storm? According to award-winning interior designer Lisa Kahn, it’s not a matter of can but must. Amidst the chaos and recovery of Hurricane Ian, Lisa’s local community in Naples, Florida has experienced heartbreaking losses. Following this harrowing event, Lisa has reflected on the philosophy that guides her work. Fostering a sense of peace around us inspires peace within, and ultimately helps to cultivate resilience as we face the challenges life sometimes presents. In Sanctuary Through the Storm, Lisa shares how sanctuary, always her guiding light, is the key to weathering the storms we encounter.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, Lisa finds gratitude; gratitude that she and her family were spared from flooding and loss, and gratitude that she is in a position to share the resources around her. Lisa has been reaching out to respond to her community members in need; offering hot meals, supporting local blood drive efforts, and most of all, helping to restore hope for the future.

In the recovery efforts across her community, Lisa supports the Collier Community Foundation. Having reactivated their Hurricane Fund, donations will go towards helping local Southwest Florida residents restore their homes so that they can find sanctuary again.
