Davis Furniture Adds New Office Building and Warehouse Space to High Point, NC Headquarters

For three-quarters of a century, Davis Furniture Industries, Inc. has worked to manufacture the highest quality office furniture in High Point, NC. What started as a small repair shop during World War II has grown into a contract furniture industry leader in design and overall quality. As the company celebrates 75 years in business, they have broken ground on a new 50,000 square foot facility.

Relocating from the current corporate office, Davis Furniture is investing in a new, modern space consistent with its brand image. This new facility, located directly across College Drive from the current Sales and Marketing Office, will house 35,000 square feet of warehouse space and 16,000 square feet of office space. This new addition will provide ample room for current staff and provide space for future growth. This new facility will be the ninth building on Davis’ 25-acre campus. When finished, Davis Furniture will have a total of roughly 450,000 square feet of space.

The new facility will serve as a showroom for customers, which include a varied range of colleges and universities, hospitality venues, and major corporations. The company’s modern furnishings can be found in the offices of Apple, Microsoft, Google, Nike and many more throughout the world.

The office space design will highlight Davis’ diverse product offerings in the contract market. Office spaces are balanced with private offices and open workstations. An open concept kitchen provides an ideal café area and leads out to an expansive terrace. There are multiple conference rooms distributed throughout the space that highlight the unique blend of conference and meeting furniture that Davis offers. The design for this new facility was led by J. Robert Bazemore Inc. who worked closely with Mercer Architecture on the building design. The strategic objective was to create a functional space where people could comfortably come together to exchange ideas and knowledge.

The new facility will offer triple the amount of office space the corporate office staff currently occupies. Davis expects the investment in the new space will be about $6.5 million. Kirkland Construction has been chosen to lead the building efforts.
