DARRAN Furniture continues to contribute towards $200,000 commitment to support Americares COVID-19 response.
We are now in the fifth month of COVID-19 spreading throughout the US and around the globe. DARRAN’s state of business and actions have remained to be to protect the safety of our employees, meet our commitments to our customers, and to provide COVID-19 Relief through Americares.
In April, President, Jennifer Cashion, and Vice President, Jeff Hollingsworth made a commitment to donate $200,000 for COVID-19 relief to the Americares nonprofit organization. To date, DARRAN has donated over $70,000 to Americares emergency programs, which help communities prepare, respond and recover from disasters such as COVID-19. Since the outset of the pandemic, Americares response priority has been health worker safety and their ability to continue to care for those who need care. To-date, they have sent more than 550 shipments with over 155 tons of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection prevention and control (IPC) supplies to support partners and frontline health workers in 49 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and 3 U.S. territories.
“We were immensely grateful to receive the nearly 700-lb Americares shipment of supplies that were delivered to the Los Angeles Department of Health Services branch operating on Skid Row. The coordinator practically cried when she saw the cases of disinfecting wipes that were part of the shipment as well as the masks and other protective and sanitary supplies.
