Codelocks Ltd, innovative designer and manufacturer of standalone keyless door, locker and cabinet locks have moved into a new purpose built UK head office in Newbury’s Greenham Business Park. As well as offering a better working environment for its employees, the new 7100 sq. ft. building also has the facilities to enable the company to provide its customers with advanced technical support and training.

Founded in Newbury in 1990, Codelocks started with a small office with just four staff. It now boasts offices in America, Australia and China with a workforce of over 175 employees including technical experts, customer service advisors and production and assembly teams. The company’s move is driven by the need to expand its UK operations to meet increasing demand for its range of stylish push-button mechanical locks, digital electronic and wireless ‘smart’ locks.

Desmond Ryan, Chairman and founder of Codelocks comments on Codelocks rapid expansion and move: “We are excited about the growth we are experiencing and this move represents a commitment to continue to build on the success our team has accomplished over the past 25 years.

“It was important to maintain a central UK location, so keeping our head office in Newbury, supporting our customers, distributors and the local community made sense. The opportunity to have a new purpose-built facility on the Greenham Business Park, enables us to prepare for our next stage of growth as we expand our overseas markets and introduce new products that use the latest electronic technology, to help customers better control access in buildings.”

The new facility was secured through Greenham Common Trust’s design and build project giving Codelocks the ideal working environment to suit its specific operational and occupational demands. Chris Boulton, Chief Executive, Greenham Common Trust said: “We are delighted to welcome another internationally renowned company to Greenham Business Park. We wish Codelocks well settling into their new home and a prosperous future at the park.”

Managing Director, Grant Macdonald, said: “Thanks to the increasing popularity of our keyless digital locks, we needed to find bigger premises in order to better serve our growing customer base both here in the UK and abroad.

“Codelocks award winning products are designed in the UK, with a production facility in China, accredited with the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard. We have recently increased our production and assembly team, creating 48 new job opportunities for the Foshan community.

“On top of that are our plans to launch new product lines next year, so the need for more office and warehouse space was essential.”

Codelocks continues to add to its industry expertise with the appointments of business development managers George Hansen and Jim Heath in Irvine, California and Joanne Milne-Rowe in the UK. These appointments alongside the recent promotion of Colin Campbell to its board of directors, responsible for global sales, reflects Codelocks commitment to providing access control solutions for its customers, locksmiths, distributors, and also for emerging markets.

Commenting on future plans and working with his new teams, Colin said: “I am looking forward to being involved in the further expansion of Codelocks into North East America and Central Europe and the opportunities that this will create. It’s an exciting time to be part of the growth of Codelocks, which now has over 150 variants of mechanical, electronic and smart locks.

“It is great to be working alongside industry experts who have a deep understanding of the access security industry. We are focussed on aligning global strategies and further developing products to meet our customer needs.”

With a focus on convenience and control, Codelocks has developed a smart lock with wireless features that exceeds those offered by traditional mechanical or standalone electronic locks. Offering a range of entry methods, including the use of pushbutton code, smart card or smartphone, gives users a choice of the most suitable access method. The new range of smart locks launches this summer. For further information or to register your interest visit: http://www.codelocks.co.uk/cl5500.html
