Classic Carl Hansen & Søn Pieces Now Available to a Wider Audience
Carl Hansen & Søn presents the VLA26 Vega Chair and the Foyer Series by Vilhelm Lauritzen. For the first time the VLA26 Vega Chair, previously only found in the Vega Concert Hall, and the Foyer Series, exclusively created for Radiohuset in Copenhagen, will now be available to a wider audience. Each product is designed with intention and requires time-consuming precision. The collections represent the Danish cultural heritage and the perception of functionalism.
VLA26 Vega Chair
The lightweight and stackable VLA26 Vega Chair from 1956 has now become part of the Carl Hansen & Søn collection of design classics. The chair features an elegant mix of steel, wood and textile or leather. The curve of the back of the chair gives it a distinctive character, and the legs are finished with wooden feet.
The Foyer Series
In close collaboration with Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects and with great respect for the original design, the Foyer series is reborn. The Foyer series consists of a bench, a sofa, and a lounge chair, all characterized by a unique interplay between the oak frame and the upholstered seats and backrests, which almost seem to float. The series is meticulously upholstered in fabric or leather.
The two collections will be available in-store starting October 2022.
