Cindy Dampier Joins IIDA as Chief Marketing Officer
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is pleased to announce Cindy Dampier as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of the organization. With 25+ years of experience in editorial, branding, and content development – primarily design-focused – Dampier merges her broad communications skill set and industry knowledge to further IIDA’s mission.
“Cindy has perfect pitch when it comes to understanding the voice of IIDA, and also brings her keen sense of creative strategy and her journalistic instinct for defining the narrative to all of the stories IIDA has to tell,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “We’re excited to have her leading our entire IIDA creative team as we work to define the future of design.”
Dampier’s role and accompanying work is informed by her belief that the power of narrative lies in its ability to create understanding, foster community, and connect us to our own humanity. This ethos was harnessed and deepened throughout Dampier’s career, gaining expertise as an award-winning writer and editor for notable publications including the Chicago Tribune and People magazine as well as her recent leadership role spearheading the content and brand direction for architecture and design clients at Chicago-based communications firm Jo Communications.
“In this new role, I hope to help create the next chapter in an ongoing dialogue around design and its importance in the world, now and in the future,” said Dampier. “I’m excited to meet and interact with members and hear their stories, and to help share the incredible knowledge and expertise IIDA has access to through our network of design leaders.
