Allseating Embarks on Multi-City Pop Up Tour

The seating manufacturer will tour across the U.S. and Canada with an exclusive viewing of Exchange

Allseating, a leader in the design and development of seating solutions for every situation, is excited to announce the company will be traveling across North America hosting a ‘pop-up space’ for its latest collection, Exchange. Designed by Nick Gillissie in collaboration with Allseating, Exchange is a revolutionary modular soft seating system that supports both active work and relaxation in today’s constantly evolving corporate, education, and healthcare environments.

“We’re excited to offer local design firms, dealer partners and customers a firsthand look at Exchange and everything the collection has to offer,” says Chris Binnendyk, President of Allseating. “Highly versatile, Exchange is a one-of-a-kind system that will continue to tip the allotment of floor space away from rigid and sedentary established workplace designs towards newer ways of working. The pop-up tour will allow participants to experience its breadth and depth up close—giving them an in-person demonstration of the product’s unparalleled flexibility.”

In close collaboration with Allseating’s design team, Gillissie spent years perfecting the design, functionality and ergonomics behind Exchange. Using just seven basic injection molded recycled plastic components, Exchange’s 16 standard configurations can be rearranged to offer over 2,725 possibilities. The first of its kind on the market, Allseating and Gillissie have set a new standard for seating in the contract furniture market—giving designers the ultimate toolkit to master any space, no matter the environment or intended function.

An alternative to traditional workstations and boardrooms, Exchange supports overall wellness by promoting movement and collaboration. Its flexible design gives individuals the freedom to work how and where they want. The seating system offers everything from single, double, triple, and quad, to L-shape, U-shape and custom open plan collaborative enclosures. An unbeatable solution for facilities managers, the easy-to-clean soft seating system can support a span of 9′ with only four legs, making it uninterrupted visually and providing a clean and light aesthetic. Five arm and four table options, 16 leg finish colors, 13 arm and table laminate options, a comprehensive privacy screen program, and power options allow Exchange to flow cohesively across an entire floor plan, from executive office to cafeteria.

Making its inaugural debut in Philadelphia on September 20th, the pop-up tour will continue its run across the U.S. and Canada stopping in Boston (September 26th), New York City (October 3rd), Dallas (October 11th), Toronto (October 24), Montreal (October 27), Atlanta (November 7), Phoenix (November 14), and Washington (November 28th).

During the tour, Exchange will be displayed in various vignettes, allowing attendees to visualize the different settings the seating system can be applied to. Gillissie will give a presentation of his design, discussing the challenges he faced while conceptualizing the system, as well as the in-depth market research and testing that influenced the final product. He will also lead participants through the collection’s functionality and unique capabilities—giving the audience a preview of how the system can evolve and adapt to the ever-changing needs of workplace environments.
