Alexandra Pollock Promoted to Chief Technology Officer of FXCollaborative

Alexandra Pollock

FXCollaborative is pleased to announce the promotion of principal Alexandra Pollock, AIA, to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The newly-created position reflects the firm’s commitment to integrating design, information, and business technologies and tools.

The Chief Technology Officer role expands Alex’s responsibilities from her previous position as Director of Design Technology. As CTO, she will direct a holistic approach to the technologies, applications, and processes used by the entire office and will lead the effort to integrate technologies used to design and deliver buildings with information and business technologies.

FXCollaborative Managing Partner Guy Geier said, “Strategically, it is important to synthesize those two streams of information—which made creating the CTO position and selecting Alex Pollock to fill the post a natural decision. With a powerful combination of technologies, processes, and people, we can elevate our service to clients and keep FXCollaborative at the forefront of industry innovation.”

“Achieving these goals will require transformational changes to our office culture and infrastructure, and Alex is the perfect person to lead these initiatives,” said Tim Milam, Managing Director of FXCollaborative.

As Chief Technology Officer, Alex will head up FXCollaborative’s Digital Practice group, which combines the firm’s existing design technology (BIM/project delivery, computation and analysis, modeling and visualization), IT infrastructure, business technologies (accounting and marketing), and data management groups. This organizational restructuring marks both an evolution of the firm’s practice and underscores its collaborative approach. “As CTO, I am focused on helping FXCollaborative leverage our internal knowledge and data in meaningful ways, so we can make better informed, evidence-based decisions for our clients,” she said.

Alex joined FXCollaborative in 2013. A member of the American Institute of Architects and a registered architect in New York, she holds a Master of Engineering degree in Product Architecture & Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. A former Adjunct Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, CBIP Technical Advisor at Columbia University, and Co-Chair of the AIANY Technology Committee, Alex is a frequent speaker at industry conferences such as TECH+.
