Imagine the Possibilities at Imagine Tile
We visited a company called Imagine Tile a number of months ago, and then caught up with company president Christian McAuley to learn more about this small company doing big things. Imagine Tile was founded in 1997 under the name “Imagined Design” by an architect/designer who had a series of interiors projects calling for a sense of the outdoors through the use of materials. It was initially a design company that began looking at the hundred-years-old art of decorative plate-making, and applying its traditions to sturdier, interiors materials like ceramics and porcelain tile. “We took the technology from decorative china over to the ceramics side, reevaluating the glazing process to create something that was extremely durable and could be used as an interior material,” said McAuley.
