Unexpected Encounters with Ceramic Tile in 2018
The announcement of Oscar nominations signals a peak in the entertainment industry’s award season. It can also be a heads-up that design industry awards programs are quickly approaching, or already here. The 2018 Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition issued their call for entries last month. This competition certainly isn’t the most well known of the architecture and design awards, but it does provide a window into the design possibilities of ceramic tile. Designers across the globe are using tile in their projects for its versatility and beauty, and these finished projects reveal a lot about how the material can be used.
