Best Interiors of Latin America & the Caribbean Competition Now Open

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) proudly announces the 2016 Best Interiors of Latin America and the Caribbean Competition. This competition recognizes interior design/architecture projects that reflect the highest levels of creativity and excellence from Latin America and the Caribbean.

“We are always eager to see how design trends are interpreted and executed internationally to create a built environment that centers around the human experience, and the projects located in Latin America and the Caribbean continuously illustrate functional design that infuses creativity, color, and imaginative elements,” Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP, said. “We are honored to once again partner with Alessi for the 2016 Best Interiors of Latin America and the Caribbean Competition to honor outstanding design and innovation in these countries.”

Design project(s) must be located in Latin America or the Caribbean; however, the submitting firm may be located anywhere. Project(s) completed after July 1, 2014 will be accepted. Eligible countries for the 2016 Best Interiors of Latin America and the Caribbean include: Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Argentina; Aruba; Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; Bermuda; Bolivia; Bonaire; Brazil; British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Chile; Colombia; Costa Rica; Cuba; Curacao; Dominica; Dominican Republic; Ecuador; El Salvador; French Guiana; Grenada; Guadeloupe; Guatemala; Guyana; Haiti; Honduras; Jamaica; Martinique; Mexico; Montserrat; Nicaragua; Panama; Paraguay; Peru; Puerto Rico; Saba; St. Barthelemy; St. Eustatius; St. Kitts and Nevis; St. Lucia; St. Maarten; St. Martin; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Suriname; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks and Caicos Islands; United States Virgin Islands; Uruguay; and Venezuela.

Deadline for entries is Friday, April 1, 2016. All winners will be published in Contract Magazine, the publishing partner for the competition, and on the IIDA website. An awards reception will be held in Miami during the Maison & Objet Americas trade show, May 10-13, 2016.
