BIFMA Prepares for the Compliant Program

The BIFMA Board of Directors, along with the BIFMA Engineering and Marketing Committees, have finalized BIFMA Compliant Program requirements. Given the impact of COVID-19 on many manufacturers and test labs, the Board decided to postpone the Program launch date by several months. BIFMA’s plan is to begin executing contractual agreements in November and begin loading product information to the registry as of December

  1. On March 1, 2021, the registry will go live to the public.

A document that provides the basis for BIFMA Compliant can be downloaded from BIFMA’s website here. Within this document are the Agreement (contract to participate), Program Scheme (rule set), a copy of the Conformance Requirements, along with ‘mark’ and ‘registry’ Usage Guidelines for declaring product conformance.

Any technical questions regarding the program should be addressed to Dave Panning (dpanning@bifma.org) and any marketing questions to Jennifer Wammack (jwammack@bifma.org). Currently several User Groups are reviewing the demo registry and feedback has been positive. Beginning November 1st manufacturers can initiate the enrollment process.
