Koleksiyon Wins IDEA’s Silver Award
Designed by Metrica, Boccaporto was Selected for the Annual Honor
Koleksiyon, manufacturer of innovative solutions for contemporary work culture, is pleased to announce that its innovative product, Boccaporto, has been awarded an honor from the Industrial Designers Society of America’s International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). Now in its 38th year, IDEA is recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious and rigorous design competitions. Designed by Metrica for Koleksiyon, Boccaporto was selected as an IDEA Silver winner for its functionality, comfort, and high-quality materials.
“We are honored that Boccaporto has received the IDEA Silver award,” says Koray Malhan, Chief Design Officer at Koleksiyon. “Metrica delivered a truly unique design to the market—a partially-enclosed, acoustical seating unit that answers the demand for privacy in heavily populated environments.”
Boccaporto is a combined seating and working unit intended to work for open offices and public areas. Developed with the highest quality materials for maximum durability, functionality, and comfort, it is available as a single- and two-seat option. The upholstered and soundproof shell with integrated recharge and lighting facilities help to create a temporary personal space that can be used as an isolated environment for personal or team work, while still interacting with the surrounding space. As a single, freestanding seating unit, Boccaporto offers the ability to create a small hideout within various commercial settings, such as libraries, airports, and more.
Each year, the IDEA jury is composed of designers, thought-leaders, and visionaries who epitomize the very best in the industrial design community. The jury is charged with the tremendous task of carefully reviewing over 1,600 entries across 20 categories, ultimately selecting 145 winners. The award recipients were unveiled live during a special ceremony at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans on September 19th.
