Vocon Announces Leadership Growth in New York Office

Lance Amato Promoted to Principal, Lauren Dennison to Design Director

Vocon, one of the largest architecture and design firms in the country as well as one of the top 40 firms internationally, announces significant leadership growth in its New York office. Previously serving as a Director, Lance Amato has been named a Principal, and Lauren Dennison has been promoted from Senior Project Designer to Design Director. Together, Amato and Dennison will help position the firm for future growth, leading the company’s efforts as it continues to provide strategic, impactful design solutions for its clients.

Lance Amato

In his new role, Amato will continue to focus on business development, as well as nurturing Vocon’s distinctive, relationship-based company culture and approach to architecture and design. He’ll also use his 14 years of industry experience to oversee planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects, with an eye to Vocon’s commitment to innovation and white glove customer service.

“One of the things that excites me most about working at Vocon is that we aren’t afraid to take risks and push boundaries with our work,” says Amato. “As a Principal, I’m looking forward to continuing to support our team as we explore new ideas, new technology and new ways to innovate, helping the firm to continue to showcase the ‘Vocon way’ in the New York marketplace.”

At Vocon, Amato has worked with a diverse range of clients, varying from non-profit to corporate to retail, to provide effective design solutions, serving organizations such as Droga5, Compass and WeWork. He is a Registered Architect in the states of New York and New Jersey, with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Miami. Actively engaged in the design industry, Amato is a member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and the Contract magazine editorial board. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, Building Design and Construction.

Lauren Dennison

As Design Director, Dennison’s role will expand from overseeing large-scale design projects to serving as the “voice” of design for the New York-based colleagues, with responsibility for leading and molding the firm’s design team as well as focusing on fostering strong, interactive client relationships.

“Design isn’t just about aesthetics – it’s about people,” says Dennison. “At Vocon, we are committed to approaching design from a strategic standpoint, going out of our comfort zones when necessary to identify the best solutions for our clients and creating spaces that allow the people within them to thrive. I’m eager to take on this greater role on our design team, helping Vocon continue to evolve and grow.”

Dennison’s 10 years of experience as a designer include work helping corporations make decisions about the design and use of their workspace to support their culture and business goals, including work with national and regional clients such as PwC, Nestle, Doner, Time Warner and COTY. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Kent State University. Dennison is an active member of IIDA, a LEED Accredited Professional and a National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCDIQ) Certified designer.

“Lance and Lauren epitomize our core Vocon values, making them both an ideal fit to take on these larger leadership roles within our firm,” says Debbie Donley, Vocon Founder and Principal. “Their commitment to developing meaningful, collaborative relationships with both clients and colleagues will help foster the creative, innovative thinking that delivers exceptional results for those we serve. With them helping to lead our team, Vocon is poised for even greater success not just in New York but nationwide.”
