Bosa @ Salone del Mobile 2017

Bosa presents itself in Milan with a booth under the headings of Elena Salmistraro’s fantastic imagination: huge installations or daily pieces, all sharing the same extraordinary refined details, special features and classy colour palettes. A precious ceramic enchanted forest.

The real novelty at the Salone is the Dornette decorative coating collection, designed by Elena Salmistraro, which combine tradition and modernity, and are inspired by the infinite shapes of nature, with “biomimetic” results, in a unique cross-breeding between biology and technology. Made of fine ceramic, the elements are designed to give a classy look to residential and hospitality walls. Canyon and Cocoa are the first two projects in the collection, which create an unexpected three-dimensional effect: Canyon, with its geometric design, calls to mind geological stratifications, while Cocoa is inspired by the sinuous foliage lines.

A precious ceramic enchanted forest: At the Salone del Mobile, Bosa showcases an ancestral universe, populated by spectacular zoomorphic vases, lamps and décor items, with a strong iconographic impact, enclosed in a ceramic quilt of classy three-dimensional surfaces.

DORNETTE
Design: Elena Salmistraro, 2017

Dornette decorative coating mix tradition and modernity, and are inspired by the infinite shapes of nature, with “biomimetic” results, in a unique cross-breeding between biology and technology.

Canyon

Canyon

From a small central triangular-base pyramid, a peculiar 12-side geometrical shape is created. Through a transformation on all three axes – rotation, deformation, scale and height change – it creates a sort of miniaturized “grand canyon”. The optical effect of this “mutation” is highlighted by a series of etchings which call to mind sedimentary rocks’ geological stratifications.

Cocoa

Cocoa

A sinuous and oblong module, inspired by cocoa pods. A precious frame becomes a curtain, protecting, hiding and showing the delicate and symmetrical central texture, comprised by small spheres, which becomes the star of the composition.

Chromatic compositions:

The sculptural Primates vases, which surprised the audience at Maison&Objet, are complemented by illustrated plates, featuring Elena’s sketches and inspiration: a collection inspired by the delicate relationship between man and monkeys. Through the power of affinity, which makes it fascinating, the project brings the monkeys back into our domestic environments, to let their life force seduce us.

The stand will also showcase the new Scuba lamps, designed by Jaime Hayon, with his characteristic visionary trait, for a site-specific project, which became part of the catalogue, confirming the special relationship with the Spanish designer, who, at the beginning of the 2000s, has traced Bosa’s new design-oriented path.

There will also be other products created in cooperation with the most promising international designers, global creative talents who lead on the company’s journey by interpreting ceramics through an expressive and emotional language.
