Best Interiors of Latin America and the Caribbean Design Competition Now Open

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) proudly announces the 2017 Best Interiors of Latin America & the Caribbean Competition. This competition recognizes interior design/architecture projects that reflect the highest levels of creativity and excellence from Latin America and the Caribbean.

“These awards celebrate the tremendous talent and significant design accomplishments in this region,” said Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “With an abundance of locally-inspired design and visionary architecture, we look forward to once again showcasing the interiors that are shaping how people in Latin America and the Caribbean experience the built environment.”

Design project(s) must be located in Latin America or the Caribbean; however, the submitting firm may be located anywhere. Project(s) completed after Feb. 1, 2015 will be accepted.

Eligible countries for 2017 Best Interiors of Latin America & the Caribbean include: Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Argentina; Aruba; Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; Bermuda; Bolivia; Bonaire; Brazil; British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Chile; Colombia; Costa Rica; Cuba; Curacao; Dominica; Dominican Republic; Ecuador; El Salvador; French Guiana; Grenada; Guadeloupe; Guatemala; Guyana; Haiti; Honduras; Jamaica; Martinique; Mexico; Montserrat; Nicaragua; Panama; Paraguay; Peru; Puerto Rico; Saba; St. Barthelemy; St. Eustatius; St. Kitts and Nevis; St. Lucia; St. Maarten; St. Martin; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Suriname; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks and Caicos Islands; United States Virgin Islands; Uruguay; and Venezuela.

Deadline for entries is Friday, April 7. All winners will be published in Contract magazine, the publishing partner for the competition, featured on the IIDA website, and featured on IIDA social media to more than 300,000 followers. An awards reception will be held in Chicago in July, the first celebration to be held in the new IIDA Headquarters.
