SPEAKERS

Margi Kaminski ASID, NCIDQ, Principal – National Director Health Interiors at CannonDesign

As co-director of CannonDesign’s Health Interiors Practice, Margi supports market initiatives and strategy, focusing on business growth and client engagement. With over 30 years of practice experience, she has led a range of notable projects for leading healthcare systems such as Kaiser Permanente, Northwestern Medicine and Penn State Health.

Margi brings a valuable perspective from the provider side of healthcare, having worked alongside practitioners during her tenure at Northwestern Medicine, and also from the owner side having managed her own firm, Quarters – Design for Living Spaces, for 15 years. Margi is a certified Lean Green Belt. She is a frequent speaker at leading healthcare industry conferences and was named the 2019 “Member of Distinction” by the Illinois Chapter the American Society of Interior Designers, their highest honor. Margi currently serves on the National Board of Directors of ASID.

Adity Phadnis, Product & Compliance Lead at Designtex

Adity Phadnis leads Product Compliance at Designtex, a Steelcase company. Adity has provided support to Designtex products for cleaning and disinfection. Adity is the Co-Chair for the Association for Contract Textile’s Technical Sub Committee and led the team for creating a ACT Test method for Assessing Resistance to Liquid Cleaners, Sanitizers and disinfectants.

With a background in Organic Chemistry and Textile Chemistry, she has a greater understanding of material chemistry and surface materials. Adity has worked in manufacturing and with manufacturers. She has presented to customers and furniture manufacturers regarding cleaning and disinfecting of surface materials. She also works on Environmental compliance of Designtex products.

Steve Kooy, Director Health & Sustainability at BIFMA

Steve Kooy leads BIFMA’s Health and Sustainability programs including standards development, advocacy, outreach, and LEVEL by BIFMA. Steve has more than 15 years of experience as a sustainability professional in the furniture industry. Steve served as Haworth’s Global Sustainability Manager for over 10 years.

This included: creating and driving well-being initiatives, leading cleaner chemistry, responsible supply chains, and pursuing product certifications. WELL and LEED experience includes managing LEED projects in Asia, Europe, and North America and piloting the WELL certification in Shanghai and Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering.

Jennifer Wammack, Director Outreach & Learning at BIFMA

Jennifer Wammack is BIFMA’s Director of Outreach, a role created in 2017 to enhance engagement with influencers of the commercial built environment. Since that time, Jennifer has been the organization’s brand ambassador, communicating BIFMA’s message as the industry leader in developing furniture safety, durability, and sustainability standards that ensure product performance and inspire confidence wherever people work, learn, heal, and play. Jennifer holds a BFA in Textile Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters of Management in Sustainable Business from Aquinas College.
