For decades, you’ve received your officeinsight magazine every Monday morning, which we hope will continue long into the future. But this week, you are going to receive a second magazine. OI Publications is launching viewpoint, a new interactive magazine created to connect design with office furniture dealers and reps.
It is a monthly magazine, free to anyone in the industry. You might ask: How does design dovetail with office furniture dealers and reps and the manufacturers that serve them? I’ve always been fascinated by the way commercial interiors are designed and delivered, and viewpoint was developed to celebrate this incredibly complex and challenging ecosystem.
The goal of viewpoint is to help grease the skids of this process — to help you do your job better, whether you are a dealer, designer, rep, manufacturer or any number of important roles critical to our industry.
At the core of viewpoint is how all these pieces connect to make up the commercial interiors industry. So in the first issue, you will find a story on how dealers and reps are adding and improving their showroom spaces to better serve designers. You will also find a story about a quirky little product out of Spain that could revolutionize the hybrid work world. And you will find several columns that will help you design space better, create a healthier workplace and boost sales.
Don’t worry: the addition of viewpoint changes nothing about officeinsight or your subscription to it. In fact, we hope the addition of viewpoint will add even more value to your subscription.
You will notice definite differences between the publications, beginning with technology. The first issue of viewpoint includes pop-out, interactive photo galleries, embedded video that allows you to walk through the showroom of the future and audio links that give you the choice to listen to articles instead of reading them. We plan to bring many of these features to officeinsight very soon to enhance your experience here too.
viewpoint was carefully designed to celebrate the heritage of officeinsight while giving it a beautifully clean, easy-to-read look. We also understand that your time is limited so we condensed everything, while still allowing you to go deeper into stories if you choose. No one has time for a bloated 50+page magazine.
So as a subscriber, what do you have to do to enjoy viewpoint? Absolutely nothing. On the first of each month you will receive your free copy of viewpoint. Your subscription to officeinsight will not increase and you will continue to receive OI every Monday, same as usual.
