It’s easy to forget the many roles fabric plays within an interior or exterior space. But fabric selection can make or break the quality and functionality of the elements of a space that it is being applied to. Amidst a sea of NeoCon seminars, this year we found a diamond in the rough at Tuesday’s “Smart Textiles for Modern Environments” session led by Deb Barrett, a leading window fashion design expert, trend strategist, and principal of Window Dressings. The session was an excellent comprehensive guide to the basics of fabric and fabric selection, as well as to the newest cutting edge technologies being applied to create “smart” textiles.
