The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), in collaboration with Designworks, a BMW Group Company, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 IIDA Global Excellence Awards. This annual worldwide design competition honors and celebrates outstanding originality and excellence in the creation of international interior design and interior architecture projects.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of the Global Excellence Awards is seeing the variety of approaches to a design concept,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “The international nature of the competition is exceptionally inspiring as we think about the growing impact interior design has made on the community at large.”

Projects for the Global Excellence Awards were reviewed by Julio Braga, FIIDA, LEED AP (Design Director/Principal, IA Interior Architects, New York Office), Federico Delrosso, IIDA (Owner, Federico Delrosso Architects), Johannes Lampela(Creative Director, Designworks, a BMW Group Company), Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, AIA, LEED AP (Global Head of Design, Bloomberg LP), and Patricia Rotondo, IIDA (Design Principal, Chipman Design Architecture).

“I was impressed by the quality of entries in every category,” said Braga on behalf of the judges. “The jury was inspired by many of the projects, which were strategically sound and beautifully executed. We were also encouraged to see new countries represented in the competition. This highlights the importance of design in emerging markets.”
