William Hefner To Expand Practice with San Francisco Studio
The esteemed architect will open the firm’s third office – its first in Northern California – in San Francisco’s Jackson Square
Studio William Hefner, the award-winning architecture firm is pleased to announce the opening of its newest office, inclusive of its first showroom, in San Francisco’s Jackson Square. Opening in June, this will be the firm’s third California studio, which fully integrates architecture, landscape, and interiors into a comprehensive design process.
Architect William Hefner has helmed the 40-person firm, headquartered in Los Angeles, since 1989, with a second location in Montecito, CA. The new studio will be centrally located in the historic Jackson Square and expands upon their current ties to the local design, construction, and real estate communities. The firm already has a range of projects underway in the Bay Area and surrounding wine country. The studio’s day-to-day operations will be led by Bob Irvine, formerly director of the Montecito office.
“As a fifth-generation native of Sacramento, I’ve always loved the culture and nature of Northern California. I long dreamed of having a dual practice in San Francisco and Los Angeles— integrating the unique landscape, design, and legend of each place into a spirit of modern California living. There is so much about the Bay Area that I’m excited to incorporate into the studio’s viewpoint — and with projects underway from the Peninsula up into wine country, I am excited to be working with our clients within the amazing diversity of this region,” notes Hefner.
As part of this expansion, the studio will also be opening their first showroom, sharing a collection of home furnishings for both designers and consumers. The retail space will feature special vintage and artisanal goods, as well as editions of bespoke furniture direct from the studio’s collections.
