Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced it has been recognized as a top three finalist in the 24th Annual Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Orange County Awards held on May 16, 2019. The firm was a finalist in the Corporate Responsibility category.
ACG’s Orange County Chapter is an organization that supports the growth of middle-market companies in Orange County and the Inland Empire. The ACG Orange County Awards recognize the highest performing companies in the region as evaluated by ACG as well as an independent panel of judges from business and academic institutions. More than 100 companies were nominated for the 2019 ACG Orange County Awards competition.
“At Ware Malcomb, we are passionate about design, community, philanthropy and wellness,” said Lawrence R. Armstrong, Chief Executive Officer of Ware Malcomb. “As our firm has grown tremendously over the years, we have expanded our outreach and engagement within our local communities across North America. It is an honor for us to be recognized for our achievements in the area of corporate responsibility.”
Ware Malcomb has a long history of giving back to the communities in which it operates. The Culture Designed to Care program celebrates its culture of giving and established a company-wide campaign supporting United Way. In addition, Ware Malcomb’s 23 offices across North America continue to support numerous local charities and organizations including Greater Chicago Food Depository, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, Susan G. Komen, Baja Challenge, Pack To School, Ronald McDonald House and Second Harvest Food Bank.
“Ware Malcomb is proud to support the communities in which we live and work,” said Ruth Brajevich, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives. “We are so pleased with the incredible level of employee participation and support in charitable programs and philanthropic activities across North America each year.”
The firm’s WM Active program also promotes health, fitness, community and philanthropy activities. This includes team participation in related events such as charity walks, fundraisers, volunteer efforts, athletic events and industry and community involvement. Company-wide wellness initiatives further engage employees and encourage them to embrace healthier habits and connect with each other across offices.
In addition, the Ware Malcomb Foundation was established in 2015 to provide scholarship opportunities to children and dependents of Ware Malcomb employees, providing financial support for their continued education, academic advancement, and the desire to make a difference in the world. The WM Foundation Scholarship is managed and administered by the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF). Applications are independently received and reviewed by OCCF based on demonstrated values of teamwork, design, creativity, community involvement, entrepreneurship and the pursuit of excellence.
