Ware Malcomb Announces Final Phase of Construction at The Mix
Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm based in Southern California, today announced the third and final phase of construction is underway at The Mix at Harman Campus, a creative office redevelopment project located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. Ware Malcomb is providing master planning, architectural design, interior design, and branding services for the project, which is expected to be completed in late 2017.
Ware Malcomb’s design for the 45-acre mixed-use site combines office, retail, and restaurant space in a campus environment that promotes walkability and a connection between buildings. The property’s creative office space features open-air windows, collaborative indoor and outdoor spaces, game areas, private patios, food truck dining areas, brand-name retail services, a 30,000 square foot town square/central park, and a 37,000 square foot health and fitness club. The Mix caters to the region’s expanding demand for amenity-rich campus-style office space by entertainment and technology companies, as well as traditional companies seeking a healthy, fun and collaborative work experience for their employees.
Phases 1 and 2 centered on the renovation of an existing 200,000 square foot building into a multi-tenant creative office space. The transformation included exterior architectural and site improvements and a new circulation corridor for potential multi-tenant office or industrial tenants. The central circulation provides varied types of meeting/social spaces accentuated by natural daylighting and promoting a collaborative work environment. The brick and bones of the building were intentionally left intact, while new materials, colors and textures were used to highlight the major building and tenant entries as well as the overall industrial design aesthetic.
In Phase 3, two new single-story speculative retail and restaurant buildings totaling 17,000 square feet will be constructed, including a central landscaped courtyard amenity space. Adjacent to the retail component is a new LA Fitness Center.

The developer of The Mix at Harman Campus is Shubin Nadal Realty Investors and the General Contractor for the project is Oltmans Construction Co.Â
