Vibia’s Guise and Palma Lighting Collections Win 2018 German Design Awards

Palma

Vibia’s GUISE and PALMA collections have been chosen as recipients of the 2018 German Design Awards. Selected by the acclaimed international jury of the German Design Council, this prestigious award is given to projects representing an innovative design trend and pioneering contribution to worldwide design. The collections, which Vibia will launch later this month, will be honored at an awards ceremony February 9 at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt.

Designed by Stefan Diez, the GUISE collection explores the relationship between light and transparency. Crafted of precision-cut crystal imbedded with a row of recessed LEDs, the light appears invisible within the glass form while the delicately engraved surface radiates an intense glow.

Antoni Arola’s PALMA collection was recognized for excellence in lighting product design. A glowing sphere that appears to float in mid-air, the LED glass pendant can seamlessly transform into a half-dome ceiling light by closing off the orb’s underside.
