A New Continuous Ceiling System Engineered for Seamless Design
Turf, a global leader in acoustic solutions operating at the intersection of art, architecture, and technology, has launched Megalith, a new continuous ceiling system designed to transform overhead spaces into sweeping, uninterrupted architectural planes. Created as the counterpart to Turf’s Monolith wall system, Megalith is engineered to provide a full, continuous ceiling scape that offers extensive coverage while maintaining a cohesive, smooth appearance when used with Turf’s wall products.
“Megalith is Turf’s latest innovation, aimed to expand how designers, architects, and specifiers think about implementing acoustics in their spaces,” said Robert MacMeecan, President, Turf. “Building on the success of our Monolith wall panel, we developed Megalith to extend that same full-coverage, architectural approach to the ceiling, providing designers with an easier way to create expansive, cohesive environments with minimal visual interruptions.”
Megalith is constructed to offer a fully integrated ceiling scape that prioritizes continuity and a seamless visual plane over segmentation. Designed for both performance and practicality, the system attaches directly to standard T-grid ceiling systems, with magnetic mounting as the standard installation method and optional torsion springs for seismic-rated applications. Its long, linear panels are optimized for easy specification while remaining flexible enough for custom configurations, including unique shapes that navigate architectural features and existing infrastructure.

Available in Turf’s full range of 9mm, 60% pre-consumer recycled PET felt, colors, textures, and finishes, Megalith offers designers a high level of creative flexibility. Advanced printing capabilities allow textures to flow seamlessly across multiple panels, reinforcing a cohesive, monolithic aesthetic. At the same time, optional reveal strips can be added to introduce subtle contrast and visual interest when desired. Samples are available as 12” x 12” objects, providing a clear representation of the system’s construction and materiality to support the specification process.
With Megalith, Turf continues to push the boundaries of architectural acoustics, offering a ceiling solution that seamlessly blends performance, aesthetic impact, and installation flexibility. By transforming overhead spaces into uninterrupted, immersive environments, Megalith empowers designers and architects to create cohesive, visually striking interiors that are as functional as they are beautiful.

About Turf Design
Since 2016, Turf has collaborated with designers and architects to create acoustic solutions that produce welcoming spaces. Turf’s artful acoustic solutions – ranging from ceiling baffles, wall tiles, screens, and more – are effortless to adopt, adapt, and install. From an in-house developed color palette to research-centered product development, each Turf design results in smarter products, processes, and tools so that designers and architects can focus on creating and leaving the noise behind.
Turf seeks to design a cleaner, greener built environment with solutions that meet the most intensive sustainability standards and processes that minimize waste and energy at every step. The use of 60% pre-consumer recycled PET felt in Turf products and the company’s on-demand manufacturing, keep Turf’s practices eco-friendly and inventory-associated waste low. At Turf, yesterday’s scraps are tomorrow’s solutions; it’s either recycled into a high-energy-value fuel or experimented with to create new innovative solutions. Headquartered in Chicago, the Turf team is constantly pushing the boundaries of the felt material to produce tools for architects and designers to effortlessly turn their visions into reality.
