Trendway Corporation has been recognized by the state Department of Environmental Quality as one of this year’s Michigan Neighborhood Environmental Partners for their continued support of community environmental quality through the Adopt-a-Highway program.

Trendway has consistently participated in the Department of Transportation program for 17 years. Just under 1,000 hours of employee time as been donated, removing an estimated three to four tons of harmful and unsightly debris from their stretch of Highway M-31 in the process. Employees at every level of the organization participate in the ongoing effort. “By doing this,” notes the DEQ press release, “Trendway Corporation shows their commitment to the local community.”

Trendway plans to continue this participation into the future as part of their many community service initiatives, including support of Hope Lodge and their Angel Tree drive to provide holiday cheer to all foster children in Ottawa County. Their upcoming annual Benefit Cruise In on September11 is expected to draw 500-plus antique, custom and unique vehicles to raise funds for the medical expenses of a local family. This year’s recipients, the Brann family, has two young sons suffering from a congenital liver disease who are awaiting life-saving liver transplants.

“I’m so pleased to see Trendway’s caring employees recognized for their ongoing service to our community,” says Trendway CEO Bill Bundy. “It’s in our company’s DNA.”
