The Reintroduction of Linq by Davis Furniture

New Knits for Linq by Jonathan Prestwich

Since its original introduction, Linq has been recognized for its organic flowing shapes inspired by nature and materials specifically chosen for comfort. In the past few years, Davis Furniture and Jonathan Prestwich focused on reworking this beloved task chair through multiple variations. For 2023, the designer and manufacturer have continued to evolve Linq by replacing the original knit options available on the chair. Now available in transparent and opaque polyester-blend knits in four colors ranging from a deep Midnight Blue to a striking True Black, these flexible, breathable knits prioritize Linq’s user-centric design and comfort while offering two unique new looks for its seat and back.

“These latest releases of Linq stay faithful to the original concept while broadening the range of the collection. Designers will love to work with these new knits and upholstery treatments to furnish a variety of interiors.” – Jonathan Prestwich

Remaining true to Linq’s original concept of complementing how we live and work, this swivel chair continues to expand its breadth of line, offering flexibility in its design and aesthetics. The Linq collection now ranges from multiple casual knit options to a more refined, upscale conference seating option that features an upholstered molded-foam seat and back. All Linq chairs include a weight-activated mechanism that intuitively mimic the body’s natural movements.

These latest knit options must always be paired with flexible plastic frames available in Black, Mid Grey and Light Grey. Yet, Linq’s “Y” frame and five-star caster base may be specified in polished aluminum or any of Davis’ 30+ standard powder coat finishes. These simple and exciting new additions significantly extend Linq’s design capabilities, allowing the chair to slide effortlessly into any office, conference room, or common work area. The new Linq chair delivers increased flexibility, dynamic support and comfort for all-day use regardless of aesthetic or application.

After finishing school with a degree in industrial design, Jonathan Prestwich started his design career in Boston, Massachusetts where he stayed briefly before heading to France to work with renowned designer, Burkhard Vogtherr.
