Millwork install: The ‘Quin House

This summer when the Algonquin Club, now affectionately called The ‘Quin House, swung open its doors as an “aesthetically stunning playground” for members of this Boston social club, the media fanfare shared illustrations of bold design steeped in history.

Mark Richey Woodworking had the honor of working with contractor Metric Corporation to bring architects Grassi Design Group and Ken Fulk Inc.’s vision to life. Curved banquettes, bars, built-in shelving, ornate molding, wall panels, doors, cabinets, and outdoor decking spanning six floors from the locker rooms to a dozen bars and lounges to the guest suites were made by the hardworking Mark Richey team.

Following The ‘Quin’s lead, we share the outcome in illustration form here along with an image of long, curving banquettes in progress in the factory.

For more, Google The ‘Quin and check out the many articles (our pictures link to different articles), or we particularly liked this video clip of Ken Fulk sharing the building’s layout and his design vision for the historic property: https://thequinhouse.com/about/

The ‘Quin House,
Gather round

Furniture install: Gather round

When your team is big, or even occasionally big, it can be hard to accommodate everyone at a table. To address that need, increasingly gallery or side tables are a popular option, including for this FOX Architects design featuring tiers of tables surrounding the main, round, open center table.

Open center tables are another, longer standing trend. But what happens when you have technology in the middle, like monitors in the well in this case, or if you drop a pen or you just want to vacuum?

WallGoldfinger Furniture provides some unique access options to reach the center of open center tables. This table has hinged base panels and a hinged top section. Complicating this application is that the table also has a riser, so a removable riser section is also included. Finally, the design accommodates continuous technology around the table, namely microphones and power and data boxes.
