The design and furnishings industry has once again shown its heart as The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation announces that bidding is now open for its 25th Anniversary Harvesting Hope Silent Auction. With over 40 exciting items available for bidding, the Harvesting Hope Silent Auction will start on Friday, October 17, at 8:00 a.m. EST., and run through October 29 at 11:59 p.m. EST., with select items showcased during High Point Market, October 25-29, 2025. While the High Point Market is open only to industry attendees, the silent auction is open to everyone.
Featuring a curated selection of furniture, home décor, mattresses, experiences, gift cards, and other items generously donated by leading companies, the Harvesting Hope Silent Auction celebrates the compassion and support that defines the home furnishings community. The organization encourages bidders to participate and explore a variety of items online. Every bid supports The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation’s mission to provide financial assistance—in the form of grants—to individuals in the design and furnishings industry who are battling breast cancer.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed items, helped spread the word, and those who will place bids,” said Rob Mayer, chairman of The Common Thread for the Cure and president of Mayer Fabrics. “This event truly demonstrates how our industry comes together to support its own. Every dollar raised will directly fund grants that ease the financial burden for those in our industry undergoing treatment—providing real relief when it’s needed most. We invite everyone to bid to help us advance our mission and make a difference in the lives of those among us who are battling breast cancer.”
Featured items include a Linen-clad Demilune Chest donated by Lexington Home Brands, a swivel glider from Norwalk Furniture, an upholstered queen-size bed donated by Wesley Allen, three CloverLane mattresses donated by DeLandis Sleep, a living room chest from Hooker Furniture and a side table from Hickory Chair. Other items include NASCAR and Petty Museum memorabilia signed by Richard Petty, donated by the Petty Family Foundation, a set of two prints from Libby Langdon Interiors for Paragon Art, a set of three down pillows from Crypton, an outdoor lounge chair donated by Armen Living, and more. Additionally, various gift cards, experiences, jewelry, and a plethora of Yeti products will also be available. Bidding starts at $25.
To add to the excitement, product donor Wesley Allen will host a lively event during the Fall High Point Market, featuring opening remarks from High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson and Kathy Wall Hunt, a former board member of the Common Thread for the Cure and founder of The Media Matters, an award-winning PR and marketing firm that provides communications support for the organization. The event will also feature inspiring stories from breast cancer survivors in our industry. Guests will enjoy light bites, cocktails, and meaningful connections as the company unveils its Morgan Upholstered Bed, donated to the auction. The market event will be held on Thursday, October 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wesley Allen showroom at 100 N. Hamilton.
