Teknion Corporation on Sep. 17 announced that its downtown Los Angeles showroom has received WELL Gold certification from the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™). IWBI delivers the WELL Building Standard āˆ’ the premier standard for buildings, interior spaces and communities seeking to implement, validate and measure features that support and advance human health and wellness.

ā€œOur Los Angeles showroom was LEEDĀ® certified to the Gold level in 2017,ā€ said Tracy Backus, Director, Sustainable Programs, Teknion. ā€œFor WELL, we had some challengesĀ with acoustical comfortĀ within a section ofĀ the spaceĀ but through the introduction of Naava Healthtech Green Walls and a mechanical adjustmentĀ weĀ persevered and we came away with this great achievement. Los Angeles marks our fourth WELL Gold certification, the others being Boston, Dallas and New York. Toronto is WELL Silver certified. Like our other showrooms, Los Angeles was designed to support health, well-being and sustainability, key factors in creating warm, welcoming and productive workplaces inspired by the principles of ethonomics.ā€

Designed by Vanderbyl Design, Teknionā€™s Los Angeles showroom interior blends multiple workplace planning styles āˆ’ from the casual and modern appeal of an open, fluid landscape, to more conservative, formal footprints. The space reflects Teknionā€™s insight into todayā€™s major office design trends, one of which is connecting people to nature and recognizing the importance of creating an interior environment that connects humans to their natural surroundings.

Wrapped on three sides by an expanse of windows, an abundance of natural light flows into the airy space, which is devoid of columns. Upon entry, visitors and guests first step into a spacious lounge area. The lounge is bisected by the Teknion Community Table, creating a central ā€œhearthā€ area that extends the full depth of the showroom. Warmed by natural wood flooring and millwork, the elegant space serves multiple functions, supporting collaborative and touchdown workstyles.

The south side of the showroom illustrates a casual, modern approach to the work environment, employing a playful color palette and a variety of Teknion products in an open, fluid landscape. In contrast, the north side exhibits a more conservative approach with a formal look and feel, plus a lounge area.

Teknionā€™s architectural glass wall systems divide offices and conference rooms, while maintaining a sense of transparency and accessibility. The showroom features a display of Luum Textilesā€™ extensive collections and product finishes, while Studio TK product is displayed to create dynamic social spaces, promoting a culture of choice, connection and community across the office.

The showroom is located at 725 S. Figueroa Street, 41st Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90017, in the Ernst & Young Plaza, which is LEED Platinum Certified. The showroom provides clients with an accessible location in the cityā€™s burgeoning downtown. Framed by windows on three sides, the 8,650-square-foot space (804 mĀ²) offers visitors panoramic views of the Los Angeles skyline to the Pacific Ocean.
