This Launch Marks the Scandinavian Design + Lifestyle Shop’s First West Coast Footprint

On Thursday, January 23rd, Scandinavian furniture, home decor, and lifestyle brand, Teak New York, opened the doors to its second retail location; a 1,265 square foot Los Angeles pop-up shop located at 114 S Robertson Blvd Beverly Hills, CA 90048. The West Coast debut follows the company’s first retail showroom opening in Brooklyn in July 2024 and is a full circle moment for Teak New York, which initially launched as a pop-up shop in 2022. With a mission to embrace and educate her community about the Scandinavian lifestyle, Teak New York’s Founder, Caitlin Maestrini, proudly handpicks each brand and product she sells. While Teak New York plans to stay in Los Angeles for 10 weeks through the end of March, there is potential for the brand to extend its lease.

“We’ve heard from a lot of our customers through social media that more people want to experience Teak New York in person – and many of those customers are based on the West Coast,” said Maestrini on her decision to expand to Los Angeles. “Since Los Angeles is a major design capital, we thought it would be an excellent location for showcasing our Scandinavian brands in California for the first time.”

Teak New York uplifts independent Scandinavian design brands through its curated collection of furniture, home goods, beauty and wellness products, fashion accessories, and other fun, giftable finds. As the brand’s exclusive US retailer, Teak New York will showcase the viral TEDDY Sofa by OMHU in its Los Angeles pop-up, along with other furniture brands such as Artek, MassProductions, and Montana. Its lighting collection will feature products by &Tradition and New Works. Artwork by Paper Collective and Reevein Studios will also be available for purchase, along with home accessories from brands including Folk Reykjavik, Printworks, Applicata, and STOFF Nagel, among many others.

Throughout the duration of the pop-up, Teak New York will host a series of exclusive brand collaboration events and in-store activations, offering customers a unique opportunity to engage with Scandinavian design in exciting and interactive ways.

As Teak New York joins the Los Angeles community during the devastating and widespread fires, the brand is eager to give back to its neighbors and help those who have been impacted. Beginning on January 23rd and in addition to direct donations being made, Teak New York will offer the following resources to its community:
-Donation Hub – Teak New York will have a designated space in its showroom where visitors can drop off essential goods, like clothing, bedding, toiletries, and non-perishable food items.
-Design Community Engagement – The brand will be creating a space for local designers, architects, and other industry professionals to gather and collaborate on rebuilding efforts. They will host workshops and provide open studio hours to foster creativity and support the design community that is being heavily impacted by the fires.
-Donation Match – Teak New York will run a social media campaign around #DesigningForACause to highlight the initiative, encouraging others to donate and, ultimately, matching the donations made in-store.

During its three-month lease, the Teak New York pop-up will be open every Thursday-Sunday from 10 am – 6 pm. Additional information about Teak New York can be found at teaknewyork.com and @teaknewyork.
