Tarkett Renews Three Customer-Favorite Jhane Barnes Education Carpet Collections

Tarkett, a global leader in innovative and sustainable flooring solutions, has updated three of its popular ethos® carpet tile and Powerbond® hybrid carpet collections with new color lines that reflect current trends. The three refreshed collections—Aftermath III SD™, Edifice II SD™ and Primary Color™—were all created in collaboration with designer Jhane Barnes and are ideal for education environments.

“These collections build on some of our most popular offerings, rejuvenated with new palettes to meet today’s demands,” said Omoleye Simmons, vice president of design. “The designs merge art with math and science to create practical, beautiful and high-performance floor solutions with signature dimensionality, precision and color consistency.”

Aftermath III SD: Available in 17 colorways, Aftermath III SD delights in a rhythmically geometric pattern. The design is an inspired interpretation of Euler’s phi function and Fibonacci’s famous sequence, merging art and algorithm into a distinctive visual harmony. The result is a modern classic that honors its mathematical roots and design heritage while inviting new genius. Aftermath III works well in all markets but is especially great for education and government spaces.

Edifice II SD: Available in 13 colorways, Edifice II SD draws inspiration from the rhythm and geometry of city skylines—a study in structure, proportion and light. Like the view of towering facades from the street below, its design builds from layered blocks and shifting perspectives, creating a visual interplay of shadow and reflection.

Primary Color: Available in 16 multicolored options, Primary Color captures the energy of motion through its layered, mechanical shifts of color. Rich strokes of various colors flow across the surface, creating visual rhythm and depth.

The collections are each crafted with Tarkett’s proprietary Dynex SD® premium fiber system, the building blocks of beautiful carpet. These yarns deliver design-forward color palettes that enhance interior spaces. Dynex SD is a premium cationic nylon that provides permanent resistance against most staining agents. For even greater protection, Dynex SD is treated with Eco-Ensure, a chemistry with a C2C Certified Material Health Certificate™ at the Gold level that resists soiling from oils and organic materials. This fluorine-free soil protection technology also lowers the cost of maintenance.

With unmatched durability, top-in-class moisture management and unrivaled ease of maintenance, Powerbond is engineered for demanding environments. What makes it so special are its chemically welded seams that create a wall-to-wall impermeable moisture barrier, which helps to maintain a healthier environment by avoiding conditions that are favorable to microbial growth. What’s more, to foster good indoor air quality, Powerbond RS hybrid carpet is the world’s first Certified Asthma & Allergy Friendly® soft surface flooring.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze, Declare Red List Free, and made with up to 79% recycled content, ethos carpet tile is a sustainable solution for high-traffic spaces where ease of installation is a must. The collections are also available on Flex-Aire™ cushion carpet tile, a standout option for spaces that demand a durable flooring solution that delivers, superior underfoot comfort.

All three collections are part of Tarkett’s ReStart® take-back and recycling program; the ethos backing can be fully recycled back into itself.

Jhane Barnes, whose early fashion designs attracted customers like John Lennon, Paul Simon, Elton John and more, has long collaborated with Tarkett, bringing her unique background to carpet design.
